

Pasargad (Persian
پاسارگاد) was a city in ancient Persia, and is today an
archaeological site
and one of Iran's
UNESCO World Heritage Sites. According to the Elamite cuneiform of the
Persepolis fortification tablets the name was rendered as Batrakata, and the
name in current usage derives from a Greek transliteration of an
Old Persian Pāthragāda
toponym of still-uncertain meaning.

As you can clearly see, the position of the dam is in-between Pasargad and Takht Jamshid (Perspolis). It will be an immediate threat to Pasargad and tomb of the Cyrus the Great and will eventually lead to the destruction of Takht Jamshid. All sattelite images were captured in May 2007.

As you can see, in May 2007, they have started to flood the dam.
